Chelsea, Newcastle become aware of chance to sign Tottenham tormentor with two different fixed prices

Chelsea and Newcastle United are both on alert for the signing of an attacking midfielder who recently delivered a crushing blow to Tottenham Hotspur, according to a report.
There has been a downward spiral of results for Tottenham recently, including their elimination from the Champions League. In that case, a goal from AC Milan attacker Brahim Diaz sealed their fate.
Now, a report from The Sun has detailed how Diaz could end up in the Premier League next season.
The 23-year-old is currently in the third season of a loan spell at Milan from Real Madrid. At the end of it, the Serie A side will have the option to buy him permanently. However, Madrid will have an instant buyback clause.
Hence, Diaz could be the subject of a tug of war for his services. However, there is a chance he could be playing for neither Milan nor Madrid next season.
According to The Sun, Brahim could be available to move elsewhere, which has caught the attention of Chelsea and Newcastle.
Either of them could offer him a second chance of proving himself in the Premier League after previously leaving Manchester City with just five top-flight appearances behind him.

It is unclear how much Chelsea or Newcastle might have to pay to buy Brahim. Milan’s option for his transfer is worth around £19.5million, the report reminds, while Madrid can take him back for £24m.
Presumably, either of his English admirers might have to bid more than those sums in order to convince whichever of those two European clubs will be his employers to flip him for a quick profit.
Brahim Diaz ready to settle at one club – but which?
Milan’s number 10 has made 31 appearances in all competitions this season. Along the way, he has scored five goals and provided two assists.
Usually an attacking midfielder, he can also play on the right wing occasionally. Chelsea have already invested heavily in players of similar roles over the past couple of transfer windows.
Newcastle, meanwhile, might have more of a need for new attackers after basing their success this season on a strong defence.
Furthermore, Eddie Howe’s side are in line to finish above Graham Potter’s in the Premier League table. In recent history, though, it would be the other way around.
Therefore, there could be a couple of interesting options for Diaz to consider at the end of the season. But after making more than 100 appearances for Milan and never being owned by them, perhaps staying with the Serie A side for good will be at the forefront of his mind as well.
Alternatively, he has a contract until 2025 waiting for him back in the Spanish capital.
And back in November, he was even linked with a shock return to Manchester – this time with United.
Whatever happens, it seems that this summer is the one that will provide some clarity about where Diaz will settle.
