The Chelsea squad think that manager Maurizio Sarri could lose his job if they have a couple of bad results in the next week, a report claims.
Sarri is under increasing pressure at Stamford Bridge following hefty defeats to Bournemouth and Manchester City in recent weeks. The former Napoli boss has been criticised for his misuse of star midfielder N’Golo Kante and his public criticism of the squad, and some believe his time in the hotseat is running out.
A recent report from Don Balon even claimed that Chelsea owner Abramovich has held constructive talks with Zinedine Zidane about becoming the Blues’ next manager.
Now, a report from the Daily Mail suggests that the Stamford Bridge dressing room are becoming increasingly worried that Sarri will be sacked if results do not take an upturn.
Cheslea host Manchester United in the FA Cup fifth round on Monday night before they welcome Malmo in the Europa League on Thursday and Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.
They will be huge favourites for the game against Malmo, but defeats in the other two may make Abramovich’s mind up for him following two embarrassing away defeats in a row.
