Chelsea star says he won’t jump ship with Sarri to Juventus

Emerson Palmieri Loftus-Cheek TEAMtalk

Chelsea left-back Emerson Palmieri says he has no intention of leaving for Juventus this summer.

The 24-year-old has been linked with a move that would see him follow Italian Maurizio Sarri to Juve, but Emerson says there has been no interest and is happy in west London.

Tuttosport claimed that 60-year-old Sarri has already identified Gonzalo Higuain and Emerson as two key additions to his Juventus side.

But in an interview with ESPN Brasil, he said: “Me at Juve with Sarri? I am happy here, I have not received any calls and I am focused on Chelsea.”

Emerson made 27 appearances under Sarri at Chelsea last season, as opposed to just seven the previous season under Antonio Conte.

The left-back slowly started to gain the trust of Sarri at Chelsea and the Italian blocked his sale in the winter when Juve were sniffing around the Brazilian-born defender.

“Emerson will stay with us, for sure,” Sarri said after Chelsea’s penalty shootout win over Spurs in the Carabao Cup final. “He’s very important. He’s improving.”

Emerson arrived in January 2018 from Roma for £17.6m, plus £7m in add-ons.
