Chelsea to benefit as new Serie A suitor moves for Man Utd full-back

Roma have reportedly entered the race to land Manchester United full-back Matteo Darmian, which could prove to be good news for Chelsea.
Italian paper Il Corriere dello Sport claims that Roma sporting director Monchi has already made contact with the player’s representatives over a loan move with an option to buy the Italy international.
Roma are on the look out for a new left-back as they are said to be looking to offload Emerson Palmieri in January or at the end of the season.
And according to reports on Calciomercato, Juventus are the strong favourites to land the player – having come close to a deal last summer.
Juve refused to sign Palmieri after he suffered a cruciate ligament injury in May, despite a fee being agreed between the two clubs, but he returned to action in early December and made his first start of the season against Torino later in the month.
Juve themselves are searching for a new full-back as they expect Chelsea target Alex Sandro to move on at the end of the season.
The former Porto star had an agreement in place with the Blues last summer but Juve refused to let him leave.
However, if the reigning Serie A champions land Palmieri then they are expected to let Sandro, who has also been a target for United in the past, move on in the summer transfer window.
