Chelsea are set to make an offer for Italy youth international Sandro Tonali, according to reports.

Tonali has impressed for Italy under-19s in a string of outstanding performances, while Chelsea scouts are understood to have watched him in Brescia’s 4-1 victory over Padova this week.

The 18-year-old, who plays as a playmaker, was wanted by long-term admirer Maurizio Sarri a year ago when he was Napoli boss.

The Sun claims Chelsea will make an offer of £20million to ward off interest from Italian giants Juventus, Roma, Inter and AC Milan.

Sarri is thought to have been amazed by his ‘maturity for such a young age’ while the report continues by claiming that a big Chelsea offer will ‘put them at the front of the queue in January’.

Of course, Tonali has been dubbed the ‘new Andrea Pirlo’ with his long hair and composed nature on the ball in midfield.

Tonali’s contract runs at Brescia until 2021, while he has contributed three assists to their decent start to the campaign that sees them lie ninth in Serie B, having only lost one match.
