Chelsea earned a record £152.8million this season after Premier League earnings for the 2016/17 season were revealed.

Antonio Conte’s men were crowned Premier League champions this season after a remarkable campaign that saw them also reach the FA Cup final – and the Blues were also top dogs when it comes to money earned from Premier League prize money and television rights.

Chelsea raked in £152.8 million this season – their total pipping Pep Guardiola’s Man City (£149 million) into second place.

Their prize fund includes a record £38million in prize money for finishing top of the table.

Although Tottenham were second in the league, they could only finish joint third alongside Liverpool in the earning table, having made £148.1million.

Liverpool may have finished fourth in the Premier League table, but their place as the joint-third highest earner of the season underlined the importance of being chosen for a live broadcast by Sky Sports and BT Sports.

The Reds’ league matches were televised more than any other team, with Jurgen Klopp‘s side on the box 29 times out of a possible 38. It earned them £940,000 every time they were shown live.

Manchester United’s insipid league campaign meant they were awarded £143.3 million, while Arsenal (£142.4million), finished higher than Jose Mourinho’s side but lower in the wealth table.

Meanwhile, spare a thought for Sunderland! The Black Cats were the only team who failed to make £100million, with their earnings of £99.9 million comfortably less than any other side.

That said, that’s the sort of money top-six sides were earning in 2013/14, showing just how much the new TV deal has increased money.
