Inter have proposed the ‘idea’ of a transfer swap with Chelsea involving Christian Eriksen and Jorginho, according to a report.
Both players have faced continued speculation over their respective futures in Italy and England.
Eriksen has struggled to find his best form since swapping the Premier League for Serie A last January. Jorginho, meanwhile, has often entertained links with a move back to his country of birth.
Previous reports have documented how Inter are not against the idea of Eriksen finding another new challenge. What’s more, Calcio Mercato Web now claims that their stance has not changed.
After failing to get a move away in the January transfer window, the Dane is ‘destined’ to end up on the transfer list at the end of the season.
However, instead of selling the 28-year-old outright, an ‘idea’ has emerged at Inter over a swap with Chelsea.
The Serie A side have supposedly received word that the Blues would be keen on Eriksen. In addition, they are willing to see Jorginho leave.
However, Stamford Bridge chiefs do not currently agree on the figures Inter have set out. Indeed, Chelsea would be looking to earn €20million (£17.5million) on top of Eriksen’s arrival into west London.
Calcio Mercato Web stresses that the proposition remains just an ‘idea’ at this stage. Nevertheless, it is one which Inter have put a lot of their focus into.
Amid the speculation over Eriksen’s future, it remains unclear if Jorginho is part of Thomas Tuchel’s long-term plan at Chelsea.
Eriksen, meanwhile, has stayed on the bench in four of the past five top-flight games for Inter.
Chelsea have Haaland offer ready
Meanwhile, reports elsewhere have claimed that Chelsea have an oven-ready offer to present to Erling Haaland’s representatives.
The Borussia Dortmund striker has announced himself as one of Europe’s brightest talents in the past two seasons.
But while Chelsea appear to be well in the hunt to sign the 20-year-old, it seems a key rival already has a better standing in the race.
