Cherries brushed~aside by Rovers

Ronnie Moore’s side went ahead in the 23rd minute with a neat chip in by Calvin Zola after Paul Telfer made a hash of a clearance.

The home side doubled their advantage on 27 minutes with a well-struck penalty by Chris Greenacre after Warren Cummings brought down Jennison Myrie-Williams.

Early in the second half, home keeper Danny Coyne made excellent saves from James Henry and substitute Matt Bartley.

But Tranmere continued to make most of the running and Steve Jennings made it 3-0 with an easy tap in on 64 minutes from a Zola cross.

Bournemouth grabbed a consolation in the 76th minute through Sam Vokes following a poor back-pass by Ian Goodison.
