City chief continues De Bruyne discussions

De Bruyne is believed to be City’s priority target after the capture of Raheem Sterling from Liverpool, but Wolfsburg have made it clear on several occasions that they do not wish to part with the Bundesliga Player of the Season.

However, the Manchester Evening News claims City are ‘homing in’ on the 24-year-old, with football director Txiki Begiristain delaying his flight to join the club’s pre-season tour in order to continue negotiations.

The newspaper says City have set a spending limit of around £40million on De Bruyne, however, which is significantly short of the £60million Wolfsburg are said to want.

“We are not a club that sells, we want to confirm what we accomplished last season,” said Sanz. “We don’t want to sell anyone, including Kevin. Of course, the player must want to stay, but we are not worried at the moment.”
