City face ‘seven cup finals’

City dominated proceedings on Monday Night Football at Selhurst Park, but lost 2-1 to Crystal Palace despite having 14 shots on goal and a possession rate of 74 per cent.

The result leaves their hopes of retaining the Premier League in tatters and Sagna rued a number of missed opportunities which saw City come away from south London empty-handed.

“It’s going to be seven finals from now till the end of the season,” Sagna told Sky Sports News HQ.

“That was the first one and we lost. It is disappointing not to take any points (from the game) because we had the chances to score. We created some good chances and unfortunately we conceded some goals.”

City remain nine points behind leaders Chelsea, who have a game in hand against their title rivals, but Sagna insists trying to recapture their best form is the sole focus for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.

“To be honest we are just focusing on our team,” the City right-back said.

“We want to be back in shape we want to back to the way we want to play. That’s it, we just want to focus on our team and not think about other teams.”
