Concern for Man Utd as report reveals extent of Maguire injury

Harry Maguire has become the latest Manchester United player to suffer a torn hip, according to a report.
The England defender was in pain during United’s clash with Wolves in the FA Cup at the weekend, with the injury prompting him to miss their Carabao Cup defeat to Manchester City on Tuesday night.
After the loss to City, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said of Maguire’s injury: “We don’t know – it’s not going to be a long, long, long-term one. So I don’t think he will ready for the weekend but let’s see.”
However, the Telegraph have revealed that the 26-year-old has suffered a tear of his upper hip after undergoing scans.
Fellow United defenders Diogo Dalot and Axel Tuanzebe have also struggled with hip issues this season, while midfield stars Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay are out with other issues of their own.
Although the length of the injury layoff for Maguire is yet to be confirmed, it may prompt Solskjaer to act in the transfer market – although one of their defensive targets has been locked down by his current club.
The Red Devils had been monitoring Merih Demiral at Juventus amid his struggles for gametime, but recent good performances from the Turkish international have led the Serie A champions to take him off the market. Read the full story here.
