Courtois agents speak to Real – Report

Courtois enjoyed a superb first season as No.1 at Chelsea as Jose Mourinho’s side won the Premier League, and the Belgian is said to be happy at Stamford Bridge for now.

However, the London Evening Standard claims he would eventually like to return to Spain, where he spent three successful years on loan at Atletico Madrid, and is worried that Real Madrid’s pursuit of Manchester United’s David de Gea could reduce his options.

The newspaper says De Gea’s representatives are ‘actively exploring whether Real would be interested in signing Courtois’ instead, but adds a transfer to the Bernabeu is unlikely with De Gea likely to be available for a much smaller fee heading into the final year of his contract.

Courtois on the other hand only signed a new five-year deal at Stamford Bridge in December, and Chelsea are said to have placed a £73million price tag on the 23-year-old in a bid to discourage any interest.
