Date revealed for talks, as Leroy Sane pursues Bayern Munich transfer

Leroy Sane still wants to move to Bayern Munich and talks will get underway from April, according to a report in Germany.

Sane’s future was the subject of much speculation last summer, with Bayern Munich reportedly interested in taking him back to the Bundesliga.

That conjecture ended in August when Sane suffered a serious knee injury in his first appearance of the season – the Community Shield against Liverpool at Wembley.

The 24-year-old has since returned to training and Sport Bild claim Sane’s desire to move to the Bavarian giants remains strong.

However, following the Germany international’s switch of agents, negotiations will not continue until April.

Sane left David Beckham’s agency on December 31 and made the move to Lian Sports, but the report claims his new agents cannot start working for him until April 1 following a three-month notice period.

The German outlet maintain that Sane  still wants to move to the Allianz Arena, especially should interim coach Hansi Flick stay on beyond the summer. And the clamour for Flick to get the role permanently has been growing with former coach Jupp Heynckes recently described Flick as a “gem of a coach” whose talent should be “developed”.

City coach Pep Guardiola wants the wide man to stay, but earlier this month he didn’t sound too optimistic of keeping hold of Sane.

City boss Guardiola, who arrived at the club in the same summer as Sane, in 2016, said: “It’s a question for Leroy, his agents and the club. I’m not involved in that.

“What’s important now is that he has to recover well and after that he knows what we think of him, that we believe in him.”
