Deal agreed as Chelsea beat Spurs to signing of talented teen attacker

Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Crewe Alexandra striker George Nunn after the teenager rejected an offer to stay at the League Two side.

The 16-year-old striker has caught the eye with a number of impressive performances in Alex’s academy side and had been tracked by a number of Premier League sides, with Tottenham also expressing a strong interest in him.

But The Sun reports Nunn has turned his back on them all and has agreed to join Chelsea in a move that will net the Railwaymen £300,000.

Nunn, who is yet to appear for Crewe’s senior side, scored more than 20 goals for their U16s before being promoted to their U18 team, where he promptly netted a double after debuting off the bench.

And that promise has led Chelsea to take a punt on the young striker, with the deal expected to net Alex a more healthy cash windfall if Nunn makes it all the way through to the first team at Stamford Bridge.

The deal to take Nunn to Stamford Bridge is expected to be rubberstamped at the end of the season, but Alex could allow him to make the move early if contracts are signed.
