Former Chelsea midfielder and current football agent Deco has hailed his client Raphinha as a perfect fit for Leeds United.
Raphinha joined Leeds from Rennes on deadline day to cap off a busy summer in the transfer market for the Whites.
The winger signed a four-year contract at Elland Road, where he will get his first taste of Premier League football after previously playing in Brazil, Portugal and France.
Raphinha is represented by Deco, who was a Champions League winner with both Porto and Barcelona during his own playing days.
Now, Deco has opened up on why he thinks Raphinha will be a success at Leeds.
“Raphinha is a player of incredible quality, he can adapt to the most diverse styles of play,” Deco told Lance (as translated by Sport Witness).
“It was like this where he went and in the Premier League it will be no different, especially at Leeds, who play a purposeful, offensive football.
“He has everything for it to work out. I’m sure he will make history.”
Raphinha explains Leeds decision
Earlier this week, Raphinha spoke to Leeds’ official website to explain why he chose to join the club.
The Brazilian vowed to make himself a small part of the club’s history, while highlighting the importance of Marcelo Bielsa in his decision to move.
“I feel really satisfied and happy with the opportunity and trust the club has shown in me,” he said
“I believe I can show my game and show the club my work and why they believed in me.
“Before I came here I’d spoken to other players about Marcelo Bielsa and they told me he is a really demanding coach, which is something I like.
“I like working with demanding coaches who can really get the best out of me, so it is an absolute pleasure to be here and getting to work with him.”
