Pompey will go head-to-head with the Rams at Fratton Park on Wednesday August 12, with the Yorkshire derby taking place in front of the Sky Sports cameras at the Keepmoat Stadium 24 hours later.

The two matches, which kick off at 7.45pm, will open Sky Sports’ exclusive live coverage of the 2015/16 Capital One Cup, which will see two fixtures per round screened live on television, including both legs of January’s semi-finals, before the final at Wembley on Sunday, February 28, 2016.

Gary Hughes, Head of Football at Sky Sports, said: “The Capital One Cup is a chance for teams from across all four leagues to lay a marker down and claim the first piece of silverware of the season, it always provides drama and excitement.

“We look forward to many more special moments in the forthcoming season.”

Portsmouth’s match against Derby will be the first cup game for both teams under their new managers.

The League 2 outfit are now under the charge of Paul Cook, while Derby have appointed Paul Clement to take over from Steve McClaren.

It will be the first time the pair have faced each other since 2012, when they were both in the Championship.

The match at Doncaster will be Uwe Rosler’s first competitive away game in charge of Leeds after he took over at Elland Road earlier this summer.

The two sides met in the Sky Bet Championship as recently as 2013/14, when the visitors won each league game, while Leeds triumphed 3-1 at the Keepmoat in that season’s Capital One Cup campaign.

The pair also clashed in the League Cup in 2011/12 and it was Leeds who also prevailed on that occasion, coming from a goal down to record a 2-1 away victory.
