Costa ‘wanted by Chinese Super League clubs in £72m deal’

Diego Costa: Tipped for Chelsea exit this summer

Diego Costa: Tipped for Chelsea exit this summer

Diego Costa could be offered a route out of Chelsea this summer by two clubs from the Chinese Super League who plan to offer £72million for the striker, according to reports.

The Spain international joined the Blues from Atletico Madrid in 2014, and despite firing the club to the Premier League title in his debut campaign, has endured a frustrating second season at Stamford Bridge.

The striker, who is currently serving a domestic ban, has recently been heavily linked with a return to his former club Atletico Madrid. And while Atleti remains the most likely destination for the Brazil-born frontman, reports in the Sunday Times that the player is also wanted in a Asian-transfer record deal, could yet change the player’s destination this summer.

They’ll also look to double his £4million-a-year after tax salary to lure him to the Far East.

Whether or not Costa will be swayed by the money on offer in China remains to be seen, but his former team-mate, Ramires, Brazilian attacker, Alex Texieira, and Colombia international, Jackson Martinez, are just three big names to have switched to the Super League this year.
