Discounted £44m move set to end Man Utd’s long left-back search

Manchester United may be able to solve their left-back issues with a cut-price move for a Juventus star, a report claims.

Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho is still targeting a move for a new left-back despite the recent arrival of Diogo Dalot, who can play both full-back positions.

The futures of Luke Shaw and Daley Blind remain unclear as Mourinho looks for an upgrade at the position.

Now, Italian football expert David Amoyal has told the Calcioland podcast: “There’s no huge urgency, Alex Sandro’s contract runs through to 2020.

“He’s on a relatively low salary. Juve could just keep him. If they want to make him a more valuable part of the team they could just give him a bump.

“But it wouldn’t surprise me if Juve would be very open to accepting a €50m (£44m) bid.

“I think that’s the price where they would be more than happy to open a negotiation.

“Alex Sandro is 27, they bought him for €26m three years ago, so that’s a massive profit.”
