Borussia Dortmund are reportedly interested in signing Victor Wanyama from Tottenham.
Bild published a piece in the paper, but the version did not appear on online, claiming the Kenya midfielder is on the target list for the German club.
Dortmund are looking to overhaul their squad with new boss Lucien Favre signing a two year-deal and intent on getting Dortmund back into the Champions League.
Wanyama, 26, admitted he had a disappointing season with Spurs due to injury, making just eight Premier League starts.
He is under contract until 2021 and last month he told Goal he had no intentions of leaving north London.
“I still have a contract with Spurs and that is what I want to see through,” he said.
“I did not have a good season with the team because of injury and my aim now is to work hard during this break and return for next season even stronger and help them perform even better.”
Reports in April said that Tottenham value Wanyama at around £50million as Mauricio Pochettino was looking to revamp his central midfield area, with Mousa Dembele also tipped to leave the club.
Liverpool were also linked with Wanyama after Steven Gerrard told BT Sport he would be a perfect signing for Jurgen Klopp.
“I think Liverpool would benefit from a monster of a centre-midfielder, a holder,” Gerrard said.
“A Wanyama-type player who does sit in and is disciplined, and he would give more protection to the back four.”
