Double departure at Sheff Utd as midfield duo make loan moves

Middlesbrough signed Sheffield United midfielder Ravel Morrison on loan for the rest of the season.

Morrison, 26, has made just four appearances for the Blades since joining them in the summer following a spell in Sweden with Ostersunds.

Boro head coach Jonathan Woodgate told the club’s official website: “Ravel is a terrific signing for us. He is a real quality player with plenty of experience, and will give us something different to what we have.”

Morrison began his career at Manchester United and has also had spells at West Ham, Birmingham, QPR, Lazio and Mexican side Atlas.

Sheffield United have also recalled Mark Duffy from his unhappy loan spell at Stoke, with the midfielder hooking up with Eredivise side Ado Den Haag on loan for the rest of the season. The relegation battlers are managed by former Newcastle and Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew.
