Dybala to Barcelona could see Juventus bid for Liverpool star

Liverpool may have to brace themselves for a bid from Juventus for midfielder Emre Can if the Serie A side lose Paulo Dybala to Barcelona this summer, according to reports.

Barca are understood to want either Dybala or Reds star Philippe Coutinho as a replacement for Neymar, who completed his world-record €222million transfer to Paris Saint-Germain on Thursday evening.

Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport claims that Juventus are preparing for Dybala’s departure and will be looking to reinvest the substantial fee in a replacement.

A transfer to Barcelona for Dybala could be bittersweet for Liverpool as they would be likely to keep Coutinho but it could mean Juve could target another of their midfielders.

The report continues by saying that Can is on the lookout for a bumper new deal with his contract entering the last 11 months at Anfield.

Juventus, whose manager Max Allegri is an admirer of the German international, would struggle to pay Can’s demands unless they raised money by selling Dybala, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Paris Saint-Germain winger Angel di Maria could be another option for the Italian champions, while Allegri could look to strengthen other areas as well.
