€120m Man Utd target will be future Ballon d’Or candidate, says agent

The agent of reported Manchester United target Joao Felix believes his client has all the credentials to be a future winner of the “Ballon d’Or”.

The Benfica playmaker is being chased by clubs all over Europe after impressing with seven goals in 11 Portuguese Super Lig appearances this term.

Portuguese source Record recently claimed that Manchester United had been scouting Felix and were considering making a move for the player in the summer.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are understood to have seen a mammoth £61million approach for Felix rejected. The Daily Mirror, citing a report in Portuguese paper Correio da Manha, claimed the Reds submitted the offer but saw their efforts flatly rejected by the Portuguese giants.

Diario AS also reports that Real Madrid and Barcelona are also monitoring the Portugal U21 star.

And the player’s agent was more than happy to ramp up the hype surrounding Felix by claiming he “has everything to be the most expensive transfer of Portuguese football”.

“Joao Felix is one of the best talents to have emerged from the 1999 generation and has everything needed to become the most expensive transfer in Portuguese football and even a candidate for the Ballon d’Or,” Felix’s agent Pedro Cordeiro told Record.

At the start of the week A Bola reported that Benfica were very well aware of the interest from the likes of Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid and they want to take full financial advantage from the possible sale of the player.

The Portuguese paper claimed Felix currently has a release clause of €120million, but Benfica are planning to increase it to as much as €200million with Real Madrid sniffing around the Viseu-born player.
