Edinson Cavani has slammed the door shut on speculation that he will leave Paris Saint-Germain and join Chelsea this summer.
The 31-year-old Uruguay international scored his 40th goal of the season in PSG’s 2-0 win over minnows Les Herbiers in the Coupe de France final on Tuesday night.
In March Le Parisien claimed the striker had become increasingly frustrated with life at PSG since the arrival of Neymar and was subsequently plotting an exit with Chelsea and Manchester United interested.
While earlier this week Tuttosport reported that Chelsea had targeted Cavani to replace Alvaro Morata with the Spain striker already agreeing a move back to Juventus.
Cavani though rammed home a penalty last night and afterwards made it clear where his future lay.
“My future is here, of course,” said PSG’s all-time leading goalscorer. “I think that it has been a good season and intense.
“We must enjoy moments like these. I am pleased for the supporters and to be here.
“Four consecutive Coupe de France wins represents a lot of history for PSG. We are here to win and win titles for the club.
“I would like to thank Unai. I know that he gave everything for PSG each day. He is leaving but he should be congratulated because we can be sure that he gave the maximum for the club.”
The former Napoli striker is under contract until 2020 and is rated in the €60million bracket.
