Edwards eyes £50m influx, as three bids set Liverpool exodus in motion

Liverpool hope to bring in around £50million after initial bids arrived for Rhian Brewster, Harry Wilson and Marko Grujic, according to a report.

The trio were well down the pecking order even before this transfer window’s purchases. Indeed Diogo Jota‘s arrival means forwards Wilson and Brewster’s chances of game time look bleak.

What’s more, Thiago Alcantara has added to an already packed midfield, meaning Grujic is behind several other stars in the fight for minutes.

The Reds have shown willingness to sell the three players throughout the window, with little progress made.

According to Goal, however, that situation has now changed dramatically. Liverpool have received bids for the trio, who are all likely to leave on permanent deals before Monday’s deadline.

Sheffield United and Crystal Palace have long had England Under-21 international Brewster in their sights.

However it is the Blades who lead the chase and previous reports claimed Liverpool have allowed them to discuss personal terms with the striker.

Meanwhile, Burnley have made their move for Wales international Wilson. The Clarets have submitted an opening bid of £12million, which Liverpool are likely to reject.

The offer will fall “some way short” of Liverpool’s asking price, Goal says. But there is hope Burnley will renew their interest and seal a deal.

Grujic the final star to depart

Serbian midfielder Grujic is not in Jurgen Klopp’s long-term plans after two successive loan spells at Hertha Berlin.

Borussia Monchengladbach are reportedly keen on bringing the 24-year-old back to Germany, this time on a permanent deal.

He is, however, likely to feature against Arsenal on Thursday. The two sides meet at Anfield with a place in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals at stake.

Goal claims Liverpool are hopeful of receiving around £50million for the three sales.

However, they could renew ties with Brewster further down the line. The Reds will insist on a buy-back clause should they agree a deal with Chris Wilder’s side.
