England v Switzerland line-up leaked and it’s seriously undercooked
Gareth Southgate will make nine changes to the England team to face Switzerland, according to reports.
Sky sources claim only Marcus Rashford and Harry Maguire will keep their places in the side for tonight’s friendly at Leicester, after Saturday’s 2-1 Wembley defeat to Spain.
Southgate has admitted that Harry Kane needs a rest and his place in attack will go to Danny Welbeck, who has played just 21 minutes for Arsenal this season.
England’s three-man midfield will consist of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who has played only 33 minutes for Chelsea, Eric Dier of Tottenham, who has made three appearances and Fabian Delph, who is yet to appear for Man City this term.
It means England’s attacking quartet of Loftus-Cheek, Delph, Rashord and Welbeck will only have a combined 175 minutes of Premier League action under their belts this season.
Stoke’s Jack Butland will take his place in goal, with Kyle Walker and James Tarkowski at the back alongside Maguire, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Danny Rose the two wing-backs.
