Euro big guns assume pole position for Coutinho transfer

Philippe Coutinho TEAMtalk

Paris Saint-Germain have held talks with Philippe Coutinho’s agent with the Barcelona man reportedly preparing to leave Barcelona this summer.

The Brazilian has admitted he endured a poor season at the Camp Nou and speculation has suggested that the former Liverpool schemer will look to leave Barcelona just 18 months after signing for £142million from Anfield.

Manchester United are believed to be keeping track of his situation, but PSG look to be in pole position.

According to Paris United, Coutinho’s representative Kia Joorabchian has met with PSG transfer guru Antero Henrique on numerous occasions in London.

It’s understood a move has been discussed, but the Ligue 1 giants are yet to make a formal approach for the 26-year-old.

Coutinho recently told Marca his form had been disappointing.

“I didn’t have a great season. It was below what I expect from myself and what the supporters expect from me,” Coutinho said.

“But you can only gain confidence through working hard, which is what I have done and what I will continue to do.”

Cadena SER reported last week that Coutinho had told the LaLiga champions he wanted to leave.
