AC Milan want some “charisma” and have targeted Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata, Arsenal could sell Mohamed Elneny to Milan which could free up Franck Kessie, while Real Madrid are in for a Liverpool target, all in the Euro papers.
MILAN CHASE MATA
AC Milan are interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata, according to reports in Italy.
According to Calciomercatonews.com, United playmaker Mata is wanted to reinforce the midfield and add “quality and experience”.
A recent report from il Corriere dello Sport has stated that new head Milan coach Stefano Pioli has been promised some money in January to start moulding his own squad and club director Zvonomir Boban has previously expressed his regret at not recruiting more experienced players in the summer.
Milan want to add some “charismatic figures”, hence why 31-year-old Mata is being targeted.
The Spaniard though, who has been at Old Trafford since January 2014, only signed a new deal in the summer to keep him at the club until June 2021, with the option to extend for a further year and he has always professed his love for the club and the city.
Mata will be difficult to prise away from United, but he has made seven appearances in the Premier League this season and is firmly in the plans of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
