Euro Paper Talk: Arsenal line-up Ligue 1 boss to replace Wenger

Date published: Friday 6th April 2018 5:28

Arsenal have lined-up Nice coach Lucien Favre as Arsene Wenger’s potential replacement, while Massimiliano Allegri wants to bring three Juventus players with him if he takes over at Chelsea, all in Friday’s Euro papers.

Nice coach Lucien Favre is reportedly on Arsenal’s shortlist to replace Arsene Wenger as manager.

The 60-year-old former Borussia Monchengladbach chief has guided Nice to 7th spot in the Ligue 1 table a season after he led them to a 3rd-placed finish.

A report from L’Equipe suggests that the Gunners are seriously viewing the Swiss as a possible contender to replace Wenger, who could be on his way at the end of the season after another poor campaign domestically for Arsenal.

The report goes on to state that Favre could be interested in the job, but that German giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are also keen on his services.

Chelsea’s top managerial target Massimiliano Allegri wants to reportedly bring three Juventus players with him if he moves to Stamford Bridge this summer.

The Italian is being strongly tipped to replace Antonio Conte at the reigning Premier League champions, despite reports in Tuttosport on Friday claiming that Allegri would snub a move to the west London outfit.

Il Corriere dello Sport states that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has put Allegri on top of his shortlist to replace Conte, who is set to be sacked at the end of the current campaign after a disastrous title defence.

The report goes on to say that Allegri is set to be offered €14m-a-year, the same salary that Jose Mourinho is on at Manchester United, and that he wants three of his current Juve stars to join him in making the move.

The three in question are reported to be Federico Bernardeschi, Miralem Pjanic and Rodrigo Bentancur as Allegri looks to be his own stamp on a Chelsea side that is likely to see many ins and outs this summer.
