Euro Paper Talk: Real Madrid consider €40m Arsenal winger bid

Arsenal have submitted a €40m bid for a Real Madrid winger, while Man Utd hope to beat Chelsea to a 41-goal hitman, according to Thursday’s European papers.

ARSENAL MAKE CONTACT OVER €40M REAL MADRID STAR

Arsenal have submitted a firm €40m offer to Real Madrid for winger Lucas Vazquez, according to reports in Spain.

The Spain star failed to command a regular shirt last season under Zinedine Zidane, but could be set for a more prominent role under Julen Lopetegui, with the new Real boss having advised his club to reject the Gunners’ approach.

That’s according to Spanish publication Don Balon, who believes Unai Emery wants to bring in the wideman to give his attack another injection of pace.

Arsenal have also been linked with Ousmane Dembele, but Vazquez is seen as a more affordable target.

However, with Cristiano Ronaldo having departed, it seems Arsenal’s efforts to bring Spain’s World Cup star to Emirates Stadium may fall flat, leaving Emery to look elsewhere.

MAN UTD DEMAND LEWANDOWSKI FOR MARTIAL

Robert Lewandowski

Manchester United will demand that Bayern Munich allow Robert Lewandowski to join the Red Devils as part of any deal that sees Anthony Martial go in the other direction.

The Bundesliga giants have been keeping tabs on the French winger, and remain keen on securing his signature.

United are reported to want £70m for the 22-year-old, but Bayern aren’t willing to go above their £50m valuation.

Jose Mourinho is a huge fan of Lewandowski, and has tried to lure the Poland international to Old Trafford in the past.

The Sun report that the two club’s will now lock horns in a negotiation that may see the player exchange take place.

A source close to United told The Sun: “Bayern are still keen and United have been after Lewandowski for a long time and want him.

“His agent is close to Jose and United and he is keeping them both in the loop along with Real Madrid.

“This is all down to whether he wants to go and Bayern are happy for him to leave. It’s up in the air.”

WEST HAM ENTER RACE FOR REAL BETIS STAR

West Ham have reportedly entered the race to sign Real Betis striker Antonio Sanabria, according to Marca.

The Premier League club, managed by Manuel Pellegrini, are willing to pay around €22m to secure the signature of the Paraguay international.

Betis are keen to keep Sanabria for at least another year, but a substantial offer for the player would likely alter their plans.

Sanabria signed a five-year deal with Betis in July 2016 after arriving from Roma for a reported fee of €7.5m.

The Serie A club retain a healthy 50% sell on clause of any subsequent transfer, and also have a buy-back agreement.

MAN UTD SET TO ALLOW POGBA TO DEPART

Paul Pogba has agreed to re-join Juventus this summer, according to reports in Italy.

The midfielder reminded the world of his talents this summer as France enjoyed success in the World Cup, with Pogba casting aside his struggles under Jose Mourinho to find consistent form at Manchester United.

The player had been strongly linked with Barcelona in recent days – but Tuttosport claims Pogba wants a return to Juventus ahead of any other transfer. The Italian outlet even goes as far to say that personal terms over a possible return have already been agreed.

However, there remains a stumbling block, with Juventus only able to afford the signing of Pogba if they can offload Miralem Pjanic first. The Bosnian is rated in the €100m bracket and has been strongly linked with Manchester City this summer.

However, it’s claimed Chelsea now look the most likely suitors, with Maurizio Sarri a confirmed fan, and his move to Stamford Bridge holding the key to Pogba’s own €100m departure.
