Euro Paper Talk: Arsenal to bid for Leeds star; Liverpool scouts head to Italy

Arsenal are ready to move for Jack Clarke, Liverpool are sending scouts to Italy and Tottenham are interested in Nabil Fekir, according to Wednesday’s European papers.

ARSENAL TO BID FOR CLARKE

Arsenal are the latest club to be linked with Jack Clarke with Football Insideclaiming the Gunners are preparing a bid for the winger.

The Sun claimed this morning that Pep Guardiola had been told by Leeds boss and close friend Marcelo Bielsa that talented teenager Clarke was not for sale at any price.

Liverpool and Tottenham have also been linked with Clarke, who is under contract until 2021.

However, Clarke is one of the lowest paid players in the first-team squad at Elland Road having only penned his first professional deal in November 2017, and the report claims Leeds are not prepared to renegotiate his deal until the summer.

Clarke has made 13 appearances this term, scoring twice and making two assists and his impact on the first team has been measurable.

But the fact Leeds will not start new contract talks in the summer has alerted top-flight clubs and Arsenal are pondering a bid this week.

REAL MADRID TO PROPOSE STUNNING SWAP TO SPURS

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is ready to offer a sensational swap deal to land Spurs star Christian Eriksen, a report claims.

Reports have suggested that the LaLiga giants are ready to do battle for Christian Eriksen as they seek a long-term successor for Luka Modric.

It is believed that talks have begun over a new deal for Eriksen, who is currently on £70k-a-week, with the player having seen Dele Alli and Harry Kane both recently penned bumper new contracts.

Eriksen recently responded to the rumours, stating: “There are so many reports. Don’t believe them, not from what I know anyway.”

However, Spanish outlet AS claim that the Danish star is unlikely to sign a new deal with Spurs and that Real Madrid are his first choice for a move.

Don Balon state that Perez has his heart set on Eriksen but is not willing to pay his €80million asking price – so he has come up with a solution.

Perez is willing to offer Spurs the chance to re-sign Gareth Bale, but will ask for €30m plus Eriksen to seal the deal, having taken into account the values (€120m for Bale) and contract situations of both players.
