Euro Paper Talk: Liverpool in talks for Brazilian centre-back

New Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde wants to make Chelsea’s Cesar Azpilicueta his top priority, while Liverpool are in talks for a centre-back, all in today’s Euro Paper Talk.

Liverpool are in talks with Lazio over a move for Brazilian centre-back Wallace, according to a report in Italy.

Il Messaggero have claimed that Jurgen Klopp has targeted the 22-year-old Brazilian and has already made an enquiry about the defender.

Wallace made 30 appearances last season in his debut season in Serie A for the Rome club after joining from Braga for £6.8million last summer.

He is under contract until 2021 and Liverpool will have to pay around £20million for the player, who moved to Braga from Cruzeiro for £8million back in 2014.

French outlet Le Parisien reports that Liverpool enquired about a move for Lucas Moura last month.

PSG are prepared to cut their losses on Moura and sell him for £26million despite buying him for £35million from Sao Paulo four years ago.

Forward player Moura, 24, still has two years left on his PSG contract and he scored 19 times and provided 11 assists in 53 appearances for the Ligue 1 side last season.

Whether Jurgen Klopp made enquiries about wideman Moura before he sealed a deal for Mohamed Salah remains to be seen, but there is other interest in the player.

Fenerbahce are the latest side to make an approach for the Brazilian, according to Foot Mercato.

Fener would not be able to pay the £26million asking price due to Financial Fair Play (FFP) sanctions, but they are open to a loan deal.

Fenerbahce are understood to be keen on a loan move with a buyout option – an option Klopp may well consider too.

Inter Milan are on the verge of signing Liverpool and Arsenal left-back target Dalbert, according to a report.

The 23-year-old Nice star is close to a £17.5million transfer despite the french club last week stating they would not sell him for less than his €30million buyout clause.

Nice had been holding out for someone to pay the full-back’s release-clause, but interest cooled from England and Inter have now stepped up at the cut-price fee, claim Sky Sport Italia.

The full-back is due to fly to Italy for a medical with Nice set to make a big profit on the player who signed for just £1.7million on a five-year deal last summer from Vitoria de Guimaraes.

Dalbert amassed four assists in 33 Ligue 1 appearances last season, attracting attention from some of Europe’s top teams.
