Euro Paper Talk: Chelsea offered France star in return for Kante

Chelsea have been offered a French midfielder as part of a bid for N’Golo Kante, while Manchester City have been given the green light to move for Jorginho, according to Thursday’s European papers.

PSG will use Adrien Rabiot as a makeweight in their bid to sign N’Golo Kante from Chelsea, according to reports.

The Ligue 1 champions are heavily interested in France midfielder Kante, and according to Le 10 Sport, they have worked out how they will present their offer.

The French source believes around €113m will be enough to prise away industrious midfielder Kante, part of which could include Rabiot.

Arsenal and Tottenham have been linked with Rabiot, who wasn’t called up to France’s World Cup squad, but PSG may use him to tempt Chelsea into selling star man Kante.

Rabiot, 23, is reportedly unhappy with his situation in Paris.

Gonzalo Higuain is unlikely to leave Juventus for Chelsea this summer, according to the player’s agent.

The Argentina international has been linked with a huge move to the Premier League side with potential new boss Maurizio Sarri keen on the striker.

However, his brother, Nicolas Higuain, claims that the player is happy in Turin and at Juventus.

“At the moment we haven’t spoken to any other clubs as we have a three-year contract with Juventus,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“He [Gonzalo] is very happy in the city, at the club, with the coach [Massimiliano Allegri] and the tactical system.

“Everyone knows his rapport with Sarri is wonderful and he sees him as a football father.

“But as far as I know, Sarri hasn’t even signed for Chelsea yet.

“Secondly, Gonzalo is happy in Turin so I see no real chance of leaving.”

Real Madrid have three options if they want to replace Cristiano Ronaldo, according to a report in Italy.

Juventus have reportedly agreed to pay £88million to land the Portuguese superstar from the Spanish giants with former Old Lady CEO Luciano Moggi saying a deal has already been agreed.

And Corriere dello Sport claims that Real now have three options as they look to adequately replace Ronaldo.

They name Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Harry Kane as the three players good enough to step into five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s shoes.

Kane has already scored six goals at this summer’s World Cup – with up to three matches still to go – after bagging 41 goals in 55 starts for Tottenham last campaign.

It is likely to take a world-record offer to prise him away from north London with Tottenham unlikely to sell at any price.

Real Madrid are willing to launch an official bid for Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku, according to reports in Spain.

The European champions were credited with an interest in the Belgium frontman over the weekend and United tried to deter Real by immediately sticking a £150m price tag on his head.

However, Don Balon insists rather than put them off, news of Lukaku’s reported asking price has actually encouraged Real to make a firm bid for the player, which the outlet claims they will launch in the coming days.

And they state that Lukaku, who plundered 27 goals in 51 appearances for United last season after arriving in a £75million switch from Everton, is firmly at the top of their list of targets to sign this summer.

The report suggests that new boss Julen Lopetegui wants Lukaku to replace Zinedine Zidane favourite Karim Benzema in attack, while one of Kylian Mbappe or Neymar will be bought to fill the boots of Cristiano Ronaldo, who is seemingly inching closer to a move to Juventus.
