Christian Eriksen has flown to Spain despite strong talk that he will remain at Tottenham, while Roma have failed with a loan bid for a Man City ace, according to Monday’s European Deadline Day press.
ERIKSEN D-DAY FOR TOTTENHAM
Christian Eriksen expects to remain a Tottenham player beyond the end of Monday’s European transfer deadline, according to reports.
The Dane is now in the final year of his contract at Spurs and the Premier League side were said to be ready to cash in on the 27-year-old for the right price.
Mauricio Pochettino admitted on Sunday that, although unlikely, he could not rule out a late exit for the playmaker.
However, neither Tottenham or Eriksen expect a transfer to happen on Monday, according to the latest reports.
Eriksen is flying to Spain, but only to report for international duty with Denmark, although the fact that he will soon be in the country has led to rumours that talks with Real Madrid could still take place.
However, there are no signs of a deal being in the works and it would appear that Mauricio Pochettino will still be able to call on the playmaker until January at least.
