Euro Paper Talk: Big twist in Bayern plans to sign £175m Liverpool ace

Bayern Munich have seemingly pulled out of their plans to move for Liverpool winger Sadio Mane, while Arsenal are lining up a £44m double deal, according to Friday’s European press.

German news outlet Sport Bild have ruled out Bayern Munich making a big-money move for Liverpool attacker Sadio Mane.

L’Equipe claimed this week that Liverpool had agreed a £70.9m fee with Lille to sign winger Nicolas Pepe, although those reports suggested that the Reds were ready to part company with either Mo Salah or Mane as a result.

Neither player has expressed a desire to leave the Champions League winners, but that has not stopped strong rumours that Bayern were readying a huge bid for Mane – as they look to replace veteran stars Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery this summer.

However, Sport Bild states that although they have information which suggests Mane has been on Bayern’s radar for a few years, the Reds forward is not currently on their list of targets.

Indeed, moves for Manchester City’s Leroy Sane and Chelsea attacker Calum Hudson-Odoi are much more likely at this stage.

Bayern are not the only club linked with Mane, however, with the Reds said to have told Real Madrid that they would have to pay £175m to and the former Southampton star.
