Euro Paper Talk: Inter stand firm on Perisic; United eye Alba

Inter Milan are playing hardball with Manchester United over the fee for winger Ivan Perisic, while United are being linked with a shock move for a Barcelona full-back, according to Friday’s European papers.

INTER STAYING FIRM OVER PERISIC FEE

Inter Milan and Manchester United remain in negotiations for Ivan Perisic but the Serie A outfit have seemingly changed their stance on the fee they would expect to receive for the Croatian star.

The Red Devils have already submitted an opening bid of €40million for one of their top summer targets but that was rejected by Inter, who are not prepared to go below a set amount for a player who has also been linked with French giants PSG.

According to Calciomercato.com, Inter have told Perisic’s new agent Fali Ramadani that they will not consider offers under €50-55million.

Perisic is believed to have already reached a verbal agreement with United but it seems there is still plenty of work to do to get the deal over the line.

MAN UTD EYE RAID ON BARCA FULL-BACK

Manchester United are reportedly considering a summer move for Barcelona full-back Jordi Alba.

The 28-year-old only made 21 La Liga starts for Barca last season, after then-coach Luis Enrqiue switched to a 3-4-3 formation, and that sparked rumours that he could look to move elsewhere to gain regular first-team football.

The arrival of Ernesto Valverde as Barcelona’s new coach seems to have a calmed those rumours but that has not stopped speculation that United could come calling, according to Football Espana.

Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho is said to be searching for two new full-backs, although left-back seems to be more of a priority, with the United chief not fully convinced by Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo and Matteo Darmian in that position.

TOTTENHAM MAKE OFFER FOR MILAN STAR

Tottenham are reported to have made an offer to sign Suso from AC Milan.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is said to be a huge admirer of the attacking midfielder, who made 14 Premier League appearances for Liverpool before eventually moving to Milan in 2015.

The 23-year-old enjoyed a consistent season for a Milan side which struggled last term, finishing sixth in Serie A, and that has led to speculation of a big overhaul at the San Siro, particularly following the arrival of new owners at the club.

Tottenham, however, could face competition from Roma for the player, according to the report in Calciomercato, via Gazzetta dello Sport.
