Euro Papers: Klopp in talks with €50m Real star; Man Utd close to £90m deal

Jurgen Klopp held talks with a Real Madrid winger after Saturday’s final, while Manchester United have lined up Paul Pogba’s replacement, according to Sunday’s European papers.

Jurgen Klopp held talks with Real Madrid winger Lucas Vazquez after the Champions League final in Kiev to discuss a summer move to Anfield, a report claims.

Klopp is eyeing attacking firepower ahead of the 2018-19 Premier League season, and reports have suggested that Vazquez is a target for the German boss.

Spanish outlet Don Balon claim that the Spain international talked with Klopp after the game, which Real Madrid won 3-1 thanks to a screamer from Gareth Bale and two howlers from Loris Karius.

However, the 26-year-old apparently told the former Dortmund boss he has no desire to make the move to Anfield this summer.

Instead, the report claims that Vazquez wishes to stay with Los Blancos and fight for a first team place, with Bale possibly leaving the Bernabeu.

Diario Gol claimed earlier in the month that Vazquez had informed Real Madrid team-mates that he is likely to join Manchester United.

Their report stated that Real president Florentino Perez is willing to sell the winger for between £35m (€40m) and £44m (€50m).

Manchester United will go all out to sign Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic should Paul Pogba leave Old Trafford this summer, a report claims.

Pogba only joined United in 2016 in a then world-record deal, but has struggled to settle in during his second spell with the Red Devils amid reports of a turbulent relationship with manager Jose Mourinho.

Tuttosport recently claimed that Juventus will launch a €100m (£87.8m) move to bring the Frenchman back to Turin.

Should Pogba leave, French outlet RMC Sport claim that Mourinho will launch a move for midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who is reportedly valued at €100million.

The report quotes Italian football agent Marco Materazzi, who claims the deal is basically already done: “In my opinion, he [Milinkovic-Savic] has already been sold for a few months to a team, Manchester United, which is waiting to sell a big name, Pogba, to formalise the Serbian’s arrival.”

Lazio’s final-day capitulation at home to Inter Milan, which cost them a Champions League place, could have swung the pendulum firmly in United’s favour.
