Euro Paper Talk: Liverpool eye €20m North Korean; United’s Dybala hope

Liverpool have joined the race for a Cagliari teenager, while Man Utd have been given an update in their pursuit of a £155m star in Friday’s European papers.

LIVERPOOL JOIN SPURS IN FORWARD RACE

Liverpool have reportedly joined Premier League rivals Tottenham and Serie A champions Juventus in the race to sign Cagliari youngster Kwang Song-Han.

The 19-year-old North Korean is impressing in the second division on loan at Perugia, having scored seven times in 17 appearances, with three assists to add to his total.

Italian outlet Tuttosport say that Liverpool are monitoring his progress at Perugia, with Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs having watched him already.

Cagliari President Tommaso Giulini is believed to value Song-Han at around €20million and will not lower the asking price unless a player is offered as a counterpart. Juventus may offer young goalkeeper Emil Audero in return.

DYBALA NOT FOR SALE, BUT…

Argentina striker Paulo Dybala would need to formally submit a transfer request in order to join Manchester United or Real Madrid.

This is according to Juventus chief executive Beppe Marotta, who told Sky Italia that Juventus do not need to sell star players unless the request to leave.

“He is a very strong player, on who rely a lot,” Marotta said.

“But Dybala will undoubtedly remain at Juve, also because we do not need to sell anyone, unless the same player asks.”

Reports last month suggested that Manchester United had been contacted by the brother and agent of  Dybala over a big-money summer switch to Old Trafford.

The Argentine frontman is Juve’s top goalscorer this season, but was alleged to have fallen out with boss Max Allegri.

As a result, Italian TV show RAI Sport claimed in December reported that the 24-year-old is becoming restless in Turin and wants to leave the reigning Serie A champions.

Dybala’s brother and agent, Gustavo, was reportedly trying to find a way out for the player, who is valued in the region of £155million.
