Euro Paper Talk: Major update in Arsenal’s pursuit of World Cup winner
Arsenal have handed Roma a clear path to land a Sevilla star, while Real Madrid are planning crisis talks with a key midfielder, according to Friday’s European papers.
ARSENAL WITHDRAW FROM MIDFIELDER RACE
Roma have been given a clear path to land a Sevilla star this summer after Arsenal withdrew their interest in the player, a report claims.
The Serie A giants were reportedly battling the Gunners for French World Cup star Steven N’Zonzi, though it was claimed in Italy that a disagreement between the board and Roma boss Eusebio di Francesco saw the deal fall through.
Now, Gazzetta dello Sport state that a deal is back on the cards for the capital club as the player is interested in making the move.
Barcelona are also apparently in the running for N’Zonzi – who is believed to have a €40million release clause – though it is believed that Roma are frontrunners for his signature.
