Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo is being lined up for a mega role, while Manchester United want to beat Bayern Munich and Juventus to a €35m-rated Fiorentina starlet according to Thursday’s European papers.

MAN UTD LINE UP PREM BOSS AS MOURINHO REPLACEMENT

Manchester United are looking at the possibility of appointing Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo as a potential replacement for Jose Mourinho.

This is according to German outlet Bild, who claim that the Red Devils have drawn up a list of potential candidates to replace the Portuguese.

Mourinho is reportedly at loggerheads with the United board after missing out on a number of key summer targets, as well as murmurs of discontent in his squad.

Fellow countryman Nuno Santo – who got Wolves promoted from the Championship last season – is one of the names being touted to step in his compatriot’s shoes.

REAL MADRID STAR RUBBISHES TALK OF JOINING JUVE

Real Madrid defender Marcelo has dismissed speculation linking him with a move to Juventus.

The 30-year-old has spent 11 years at the Bernabeu, since joining from the Fluminense, but reports had suggested he was being lined up to follow Cristiano Ronaldo to Turin.

Marcelo, though, insists he has no intention of leaving Real.

“It’s an element which is hardly worth discussing. I’m very happy at Real Madrid,” he told Real Madrid TV.

“It’s my home and I’ve got many years left on my contract.

“I’m very happy here, it’s the best club in the world and I always want to play for the very best.

“It’s good to talk about it because there are always rumours and it’s tough for me to have to continually show I want to be here and can play here. I always give it my best to be at the best club in the world.

“I just keep doing my job. I have to show what I can do every year.

“I enjoy every moment of playing for Real Madrid and naturally, I give it everything I’ve got. I do all I can to make sure the fans enjoy the football and that Madrid are always at the top, which is where they belong.

“I want to be at Madrid for many years. I’m very calm about it all and I want to continue at Real Madrid. Lots of people hide behind social media to spread ridiculous rumours and cause problems where they don’t exist.

“I’m as hungry as when I was 18 years old. I’ll be here until the end.”

UNITED MAKING JANUARY PLANS FOR IMPRESSIVE FIORENTINA STAR

Manchester United are among the clubs being linked with a move for upcoming Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic.

The versatile Serbian is capable of playing at both centre-half and full-back and is carving out a growing reputation for himself in La Viola’s defence, despite only playing 19 times for the club, leading to links with some of Serie A big hitters.

Milenkovic was heavily linked with a move to Juventus this summer, but the financial burden of signing Cristiano Ronaldo meant the deal was put on ice.

Since then, Calciomercato claims the 6ft 5ins defender has also been linked with linked with Bayern Munich, while the player 20-year-old has also been tipped up as a target for Jose Mourinho, who is keen to bring in a new central defender to Manchester United.

Signed in a bargain €5m deal from Partizan Belgrade in the summer of 2017, it is thought Fiorentina would not entertain offers for anything less than €35m now.
