Euro Paper Talk: Man Utd in advanced talks to land veteran Serie A hitman

Manchester United are closing in on a deal for a veteran Juventus striker, while Wolves are set to sign two Lazio stars for a combined €20m, according to Friday’s European press.

MAN UTD CLOSING IN ON MANDZUKIC MOVE

Manchester United are reportedly in advanced talks for Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic, with a deal said to be on the cards for between €10-15million.

The 33-year-old Croatia international was discussed during negotiations to swap Paulo Dybala with Romelu Lukaku, but it is believed that this will be a completely separate deal.

According to Tuttosport, United will end up paying €10-15m for the attacker, who only signed a contract extension until 2021 in April but is not in Maurizio Sarri’s future plans.

He is currently on a salary worth €5.5m per season net, which should not be an issue for United, although it remains to be seen whether Mandzukic’s potential arrival will have any effect on the swap deal involving Dybala and Lukaku.

Dybala is said to have reservations offer a move to United, although he has received a glowing report on life at Old Trafford from Red Devils great Cristiano Ronaldo.
