Manchester United have pushed on with their attempts to land a Croatian World Cup star, while talks have begun over a sensational move for Neymar, according to Friday’s European papers.

 

MAN UTD IN ADVANCED TALKS OVER WORLD CUP STAR

Manchester United have reportedly entered talks with Ivan Perisic over a potential summer move to Old Trafford.

Jose Mourinho is apparently a huge admirer of the Inter Milan winger and tried to bring him to Manchester last summer, but couldn’t get a deal done as the Red Devils baulked at Inter’s €50m asking price.

Perisic eventually signed a new five-year deal with the Serie A club, seemingly putting an end to speculation about his future.

However, Mourinho is back in for the Croatia international, whose equaliser helped sink England in the semi-finals of the World Cup in Russia.

Now, respected Twitter account Euro United has reported that United are locked in talks over Perisic.

They posted: “Advanced negotiations between Perisic and Manchester United. Jose Mourinho loves the Inter player a lot. Zahavi and Ramadani will move soon to advance on the transfer.”

Perisic was praised by Mourinho following his impressive display against England in the semis.

“Perisic is the kind of winger that is different to the others,” the United boss said.

“Normally you look at wingers and they are just fast and creative. But he is also physical, very physical, fantastic in the air.”
