Man Utd’s latest striker link has hit a shock new level, while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has seen a bid for an Inter Milan midfielder rebuffed, according to Thursday’s Euro Paper Talk.

BLAST FROM THE PAST IN SHOCK MAN UTD LINK

Manchester United are reportedly lining up a sensational move for former striker Carlos Tevez.

With Marcus Rashford suffering a double stress fracture in his back, which could rule him out for the remainder of the season – Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is actively looking for potential replacements.

And, 11 years after he controversially crossed Manchester to join rivals City, Tevez has surprisingly been identified as a possibility, according to Tuttosport.

The 35-year-old is in his third spell at home town club Boca Juniors, but is out of contract in June, and would represent a low-cost solution and provide an experienced head in the United dressing room.

In his previous spell at Old Trafford between 2007 and 2009 Tevez scored 34 times, winning two Premier League titles and the Champions League.

Solskjaer has made no secret of his desire to make signings in January after overseeing a poor run of form that sees them six points off fourth place in the Premier League.

United have also been linked with Napoli frontman Edinson Cavani, but it would appear that the Uruguay hitman is heading to Atletico Madrid instead.
