Federico Chiesa TEAMtalk

Manchester United and Manchester City remain interested in an Italy winger, Spurs want Douglas Costa and Arsenal and Man Utd are in for Monchi, according to Wednesday’s European papers.

Manchester United and Manchester City remain interested in Italy winger Federico Chiesa, according to a report in Italy.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Inter Milan and Juventus lead the race from Italy for the 21-year-old, but Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are also in the hunt, as well as the two Premier League giants.

The right winger has 10 goals and six assists for Fiorentina this season and the Viola apparently value the youngster at €60million, although that figure could well rise due to his impressive performances.

Before Christmas Calciomercato claimed Juve were in the driving seat to land the player, having already had dealings with Fiorentina when they signed Federico Bernardeschi last season.

Liverpool and Chelsea were linked with the player last summer.

Defender Jordi Alba will consider a move to Manchester United and other interested clubs following a development at Barcelona, a report claims.

The Spain international is believed to have been in talks with Barca over a new deal, with his current deal at the Camp Nou expiring in June 2020 and possessing a €150m release clause.

President Josep Maria Bartomeu said on Monday that the Catakans would offer the player a five-year contract.

Meanwhile, Cadena Ser reported earlier in the month that the experienced left-back had agreed to extend his contract until June 2024.

However, a fresh report from Don Balon, Alba has become unsettled because his club have prioritised a new deal for Lionel Messi, despite him being closer to the end of his current contract.

The report adds that he has received offers from Man Utd and Man City but decided to ‘park’ them, however his jealousy over the Messi talks may force him to consider.

Alba recently re-iterated his happiness at the Nou Camp, but failed to rule out a possible departure.

“You never know in football, but I repeat that my intention is to stay here come what may,” he told Sport.

“I have never seen myself outside of Barcelona, since I have been at Barca it’s my dream [to stay].

“As the years have passed I have kept growing and I notice the affection from the fans even more. I have always seen myself in Barcelona and my dream is to retire here.”
