Euro Paper Talk: Man Utd meet Juventus to talk over serious €65m offer

Date published: Thursday 21st June 2018 8:29

Manchester United and Juventus will meet in the coming days to discuss a €65m transfer between the clubs, while Real Madrid’s new boss Julen Lopetegui is setting his sights on a £200m Premier League raid, according to Thursday’s European papers.

JUVENTUS STEP UP MARTIAL CHASE

Not content with the signing of Emre Can from Liverpool, Juventus are already planning another raid on the Premier League after reportedly lodging a firm €65m bid for Anthony Martial.

That’s according to Italian outlet IlBianconero, who claims that formal talks will take place between the two clubs later this week in a bid to strike a deal.

It’s believed Juve’s initial offer is for €65m but that offer falls short of Jose Mourinho’s reported €100m valuation for the Frenchman.

Tottenham are also keen on the player, but Juventus look favourites to sign the former Monaco man with the United boss keen to see the player move overseas.

Martial’s agent has already confirmed the winger’s desire to move on this summer.

Juve are reportedly hopeful of landing the 22-year-old for a compromise fee of around €75m (£65.7m), though any deal is likely to include a first refusal chance to buy the player back should he leave Turin in the years to come.

NEW REAL BOSS SETS SIGHTS ON SALAH

The incoming Real Madrid manager Julen Lopetegui is hopeful of tempting Liverpool star Mo Salah to join this summer, a report claims.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are both apparently keen on signing the 25-year-old this summer after an amazing debut season for Liverpool which saw him win the Premier League golden boot, but reports have suggested it would cost £200m+ to strike a deal.

According to Don Balon, Lopetegui is considering the Egypt international as the ideal alternative to PSG star Neymar, who looks increasingly unlikely to return to LaLiga.

The report also claims that Salah’s arrival would be part of a key tactical change at the Bernabeu, with Lopetegui looking to use the former Roma man up front alongside Cristiano Ronaldo in a 4-4-2 formation.

However, reports have recently claimed that Salah has not forgiven Real captain Sergio Ramos for injuring him in the Champions League final last month.

The pair locked arms as they fell to the ground, with Salah taking the brunt of the weight on his shoulder.
