Euro Paper Talk: Man Utd midfield target told he can leave Barcelona for £17m

Date published: Friday 20th December 2019 12:17

Manchester United may be able to snap up a midfield target for a bargain £17million, while Chelsea are keen on a move for a Real Madrid winger – all in Friday’s European transfer news.

MAN UTD LEARN PRICE FOR MIDFIELD TARGET

Barcelona want €20million to part ways with unhappy midfielder Arturo Vidal, who has been linked with a move to Manchester United.

The Chile international is seemingly looking to force his way out of the club, news that was escalated after he stormed out of Barcelona’s pre-Clasico training session on Tuesday, but will only be allowed to leave on Barcelona’s terms.

Inter Milan has also shown a strong interest in the 32-year-old and are keen on a loan deal until the end of the season with an option to buy, but the Catalan giants are said to be adamant that the player will only be allowed to leave for a straight cash offer.

The reason for that is because Barca need to raise €150 million by next summer for financial fair play purposes.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a known admirer of Vidal and despite the player being the wrong side of 30, the Red Devils boss is said to be looking to add some experience to what is a young squad.

The Old Trafford club have continued doubts over Paul Pogba’s long-term future, despite Solskjaer stating on Friday that the midfielder will not be sold in the New Year, while Nemanja Matic is also being tipped to move on.
