Euro Paper Talk: Liverpool linked with €50m Eredivisie sensation

Man Utd have been linked with a late hijack of a £27m defender deal, while Ajax have slapped a hefty asking price on a reported Liverpool target in Friday’s European papers.

Manchester United could hijack Everton’s £27million move for Barcelona defender Yerry Mina, a report claims.

Widespread reports on Thursday suggested that the Toffees were closing in on signing the Colombian World Cup star in a deal worth over €30m.

The commanding defender has struggled to get game time at Barca since his €11.8million January transfer from Palmeiras.

He played in just five La Liga matches last season and often didn’t even make the bench for manager Ernesto Valverde’s side.

According to French media outlet RMC, Jose Mourinho is keen on a move for Mina and will try and launch a late bid to beat Everton to his signature.

The Red Devils are apparently willing to match Everton’s £27m offer and meet Mina’s wage demands to get the deal over the line.

Liverpool have been told they must pay €50m if they want to land a want-away Ajax star this summer, a report claims.

The Reds have been previously linked with a move for winger David Neres, and according to the Dutch media Ajax have agreed to sell the player.

It has been widely reported that Neres wants to leave the Eredivisie giants this summer, and the Brazilian has apparently told the club of his desire to move on.

However, Ajax will not accept anything less than what they feel is a fair fee for the 21-year-old, and have slapped a £44.4million price tag on Neres.

The former Sao Paolo starlet has a deal which expires in 2021, while Juventus, Manchester United, Arsenal and Spurs are also keen on the forward.
