Manchester United are hatching a plan to break the world transfer record this summer, while Chelsea have reopened talks over a deal for a £35million target, according to Thursday’s European papers.
MAN UTD PLOT SENSATIONAL SUMMER SWOOP FOR NEYMAR
Manchester United are plotting a sensational £280million summer move for Neymar, according to reports in the Spanish media.
The Brazilian superstar is a long-term target of the club and they considered moving for him multiple times prior to his record-breaking €222m move from Barcelona to PSG last summer.
However, after crunching the numbers on a potential future deal for the player, Don Balon claims United remain keen on Neymar and are plotting a fresh summer swoop for the Brazilian.
According to the Spanish outlet, they claim United believe any transfer and wages costs for Neymar will be covered through shirt sales and brand growth in Asia and South America.
It’s suggested the player would cost the club a minimum £280million transfer fee – which would shatter the current record by some £80million – while his wages would be sure to top the £500,000 a week the club pays Alexis Sanchez.
While extremely speculative at this stage, would it come as a major surprise to see United make a fresh move for the much-sought after Brazilian, who will no doubt also come under Real Madrid’s radar again this summer…?
Furthermore, reports in Mundo Deportivo claim PSG will look to replace Neymar this summer by making a move for Paulo Dybala in a €180million deal.
