Merih Demiral TEAMtalk

Manchester United have been scouting a Turkish defender again, Real Madrid want Harry Kane again, and Borussia Dortmund will bid for a Chelsea and Liverpool target in January, according to Tuesday’s European papers.

Manchester United  reportedly remain keen on Sporting Lisbon defender Merih Demiral.

There appears to be growing interest in the 20-year-old centre-back, who moved on loan to Alanyaspor to gain first-team experience.

Turkish outlet Aksam reported that United had scouted the player last March, and now Turkish-Football report that “a source close to Alanyaspor” says United are among several clubs to watch the player this season.

The young centre-back has played five times in the Turkish Super Lig and scored once, while Alanyaspor have conceded just three goals in that time.

Turkish sports newspaper Fanatik reported in April 2017 that United had been joined by Besiktas and Galatasaray in keeping tabs on the youngster.

The Turkey U21 international has a €45m release clause and has four years left on his contract.
