Euro Paper Talk: Marseille chasing Man Utd star

Marseille are keen on landing a Manchester United star, while City are ready to offer £60million for a Real Madrid attacker, according to Saturday’s European papers.

MARSEILLE LOOKING TO LAND MAN UTD FREE AGENT

Marseille are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United’s free agent midfielder Marouane Fellaini.

The Belgian is available on a free transfer from June 30 and L’Equipe reports that Marseille sports director Andoni Zubizarreta has recently spoken with representatives of the 30-year-old.

The main stumbling block appears to be Fellaini’s wage demands, however, leaving AC Milan and Atletico Madrid as the main contenders for the former Everton star.

United boss Jose Mourinho has stated that he would prefer to keep Fellaini, despite setting his sights on several other central midfield targets, but no talks have yet taken place over offering the player a new contract.

Fellaini has become more of an impact player from the bench under Mourinho and is thought to want more regular first-team football as he enters the latter stages of his career.
