AC Milan fear losing a key man to the Premier League, while Liverpool are reportedly leading the race to sign a player with a €500m release clause, according to Friday’s European papers.
AC MILAN FEAR LOSING STAR DEFENDER
AC Milan have reportedly been left puzzled by the situation surrounding defender Leonardo Bonucci.
The Rossoneri captain only arrived from rivals Juventus in the summer, but according to TransferMarketWeb the San Siro club already fear losing him.
Chelsea are believed to be pushing for the 30-year-old, with former coach Antonio Conte talking to Bonucci recently.
Milan have had a poor start to the Serie A season, sitting 14 points off the Champions League places after just 17 games.
However, their rivals and Premier League runaway leaders Manchester City are also apparently interested, as are FC Barcelona.
AC Milan did post a statement on their official website denying that Bonucci had any contact with Chelsea, but this post has mysteriously vanished.
ADVANTAGE LIVERPOOL IN RACE TO SIGN REAL MADRID STAR
Liverpool are reported to have moved ahead of Arsenal in the race to sign unwanted Real Madrid star Dani Ceballos, having opened talks with the player.
The Spain U21 midfielder moved to the Bernabeu over the summer in a deal worth £16million from Real Betis, but has struggled to make an impact, having only appeared in six La Liga matches so far.
And according to Diario Gol, Liverpool have opened talks with the player in a bid to bring him to Anfield in January.
It’s believed Ceballos was brought to the club on the recommendation of president Florentino Perez, who, according to Catalan newspaper Sport, stuck a €500million (£443m) exit fee in his contract when signing him.
But Diario Gol reckon with Zinedine Zidane not rating the player, Perez is ready to cut his losses on the star and sell him to the Reds in a deal worth around £21million.
Arsenal have also been mentioned as suitors, but the Spanish outlet claims a move to Anfield looks far more likely with the player keen to make the move in January.
